Help, ubuntu 18.04 freeze

Salut à tous,
Je sais bien que le sujet à été abordé maintes et maintes fois mais malgrès tout je vous expose mon problème:
Je suis néophyte sur ubuntu, je l'utilise depuis 1 mois environ.
Mon pc Acer aspire ES15 freeze régulièrement depuis ma dernière mise à jour, j'ai pu observer qu'il semble avoir plus tendance à figer quand je regarde un film et le fait de plus en plus souvent (3ou4 fois aujourd'hui, 2 fois hier et avant ca c'était de temps en temps).
Avant cette fameuse mise à jour ubuntu tournait nikel. Depuis, meme avec la méthode SEIUB je n'arrive pas à l'éteindre quand il déconne, obligé de faire un arret à la sauvage et je crois qu'a force le PC va pas trop kiffer...
J'ai bien essayé de résoudre le probleme tout seul en suivant les autres discutions traitant du sujet mais sans succès...
Y aurait il une âme charitable parmis vous qui accepterai de se pencher sur mon problème...

Je trouve dans cette discussion pour un Aspire-ES1-572 > Drivers for Intel Graphics Card Linux Mint 18.2

La carte graphique est :

 GLX Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 520 (Skylake GT2)

Un outil pour tester ta carte graphique > earth.nullschool.net

Quand il fonctionne, si vous obtenez des erreurs, c'est certainement les pilotes vidéo.

Si vous voulez jouer avec les réglages de base, cliquez sur le mot "Earth" dans le coin inférieur gauche pour faire apparaître différentes options globales.
Le noyau d'attachement 4.10.0-40.png n'est plus disponible
Vous pouvez voir des animations en direct du vent et de l'eau et c'est un excellent moyen de tester votre noyau/CPU/PCU/chipset/drivers/browser ensemble et vous aide vraiment à distinguer quand un mode fonctionne mieux qu'un autre. La distance peut varier, mais il devrait fonctionner parfaitement dans Firefox 57.0 et Chrome 62.0.3202.94.

Tous les GPU i915 et ultérieurs d'Intel utilisent ce pilote pour cette raison. Cela ne veut pas dire que le pilote ne modifie pas son comportement pour tirer parti des nouvelles puces, mais qu'il utilise les mêmes algorithmes centraux, en particulier pour des tâches telles que l'allocation de mémoire.

donc pas de solution pour mon problème?
le truc bizarre c'est que mes 3 premières semaines d'utilisation d'Ubuntu 18.04 se sont déroulées sans aucun problème et il me semble avoir fait une mise à jour système la semaine dernière et depuis ... on connaît la suite...
peut être changer de version linux alors, y'en a t il une qui serait susceptible de mieux tourner sur mon PC? enfin du moins sur lequel ce problème ne se manifesterait pas???
