J'ai redémarré mon ordi après cette manip, et voici les retours de systemd-analyze time :

Donc grosse amélioration au niveau du temps de démarrage. Si dans les jours à venir, ça reste aussi rapide, je passerai le sujet en [Résolu].

Par ailleurs, je vois dans le retour de systemd-analyze critical-chain qu'il y a certaines lignes qui montrent un temps de démarrage un peu long, en particulier : 

kerneloops.service @1min 21.929s +13.521s
NetworkManager.service @38.107s +12.318s
systemd-tmpfiles-setup.service @32.884s +4.570s
systemd-journal-flush.service @5.773s +27.109s

Est-ce que ce serait une piste d'amélioration ?

Si tu vois des idées dans :

> [RESOLU] Démarrage très lent

> 18.04 Temps de démarrage trop long - RESOLU

J'ai testé quelque chose de mon côté, j'ai mis en mode avion avant de reboot, donc pas de networkManager et de kernel-loop par contre snapd.service lui est apparu...
Je vois mal ce qui lie les deux services mais au cas où peut-être que ce mode avion améliorera le temps de démarrage...

Vive la communauté du Libre !!!

Cette amélioration inattendue des temps "loader" et "kernel" qu'on peut voir dans le post #26 : 

4.337s (loader) + 6.533s (kernel)

est inquiétante. Tu avais déjà eu une amélioration importante le 28/03/2021, visible dans ce post de ta discussion précédente : 

12.562s (loader) + 6.408s (kernel)

Mais cette amélioration n'avait pas duré. Pour moi, on n'a pas trouvé la cause du problème.

Oui, c'est ce que je me disais aussi, c'est pourquoi je n'ai pas passé le sujet en [Résolu].

Je viens de refaire un reboot, et voici le résultat cette fois-ci, qui est déjà un peu plus long que précédemment : 

tao-sheng[jeu. avril 01 15:14:02]@~ systemd-analyze time
Startup finished in 8.866s (firmware) + 18.125s (loader) + 8.324s (kernel) + 2min 56.689s (userspace) = 3min 32.005s 
graphical.target reached after 2min 56.642s in userspace

Je verrai si au fur et à mesure des reboots, le temps s'allonge ou non. En attendant, je continue de chercher la cause du problème.

Si cela vient de là. Tu as installé par le passé tout un tas de paquets issus de dépôts non officiels et c'est bien la présence de ces paquets qui risque d'empêcher la mise à niveau.

En ce qui concerne, dans le retour de systemd-analyze critical-chain, la ligne :

qui est devenu, au second reboot :

J'ai lancé la commande : 

journalctl -b --unit systemd-journald

qui me retourne :

Je vois que la dernière ligne indique

Est-ce que vous pensez qu'il serait possible de vider ce fichier et que ça pourrait avoir un impact sur le démarrage ? Et si oui, comment faire ?

[Edit] : solution trouvée cf. post #35. A priori, gain de temps d'une vingtaine de secondes, à voir sur le long terme.

Alors, grâce à ce sujet,j'ai réussi à vider /var/log/journal en utilisant la commande : 

journalctl --vacuum-size=200M

Grâce à celui-ci, j'ai normalement limité l'espace que peut occuper /var/log/journal.

Étrangement, les temps "loader" et "kernel" sont remontés à leurs valeurs de mon premier post (57 et 27 secondes, alors qu'ils étaient descendu à 4 et 6 secondes...). En revanche, le temps "userspace" est passé de 8min45 à 1min40. Je croise les doigts pour que ça persiste, et je continue de chercher la cause de départ de ce démarrage qui était si long.

Pour gagner encore quelques secondes, je me suis attaqué à NetworkManager-wait-online.service qui semble avoir pour fonction d'attendre une connexion au réseau, et qui peut ainsi bloquer le boot jusqu'à 30 secondes (si j'ai bien compris).
J'ai donc passé les commandes suivantes : 

sudo systemctl disable NetworkManager-wait-online.service
sudo systemctl mask NetworkManager-wait-online.service

Et voici le systemd-analyze time après reboot : 

Startup finished in 2.894s (firmware) + 4.090s (loader) + 6.821s (kernel) + 1min 29.422s (userspace) = 1min 43.229s 
graphical.target reached after 1min 29.391s in userspace

Ainsi que le systemd-analyze critical-chain :

On constate une belle amélioration du temps de démarrage, passant de 3min11 dans le post précédent à 1min43 ici. En espérant que ça persiste et que je puisse passer le sujet en [Résolu].

Par contre, je ne m'explique pas l'étonnante diminution des temps de "loader" et de "kernel", qui sont passés de 57 et 27 secondes à 4 et 6 secondes...

perso quand je vois ca :

System Journal (/var/log/journal/7d4bba5593a5430307866da7525173cd) is 4.0G, max 4.0G, 0B free.

c ' est a dire un fichier journal de 4 Go au max de sa capacité , je me dis qu ' il doit y avoir dedans ce fichier une ou des lignes qui doivent revenir un certain nombres de fois tres tres tres tres important .

generalement ca sera avec une grand probrabilité que ca soit lié avec ton probleme de lenteur de demarrage ...

les logs c ' est là pour aider , et au vu de sa taille , il t ' aidera en rapport surement roll , alors qu ' y a t il donc la dedans ? avec la ligne qui se repete le + souvent ?

Tu es passé sur Ubuntu 20.04 à parti d'une autre version où tu y est passé sans mise en niveau ?

Dans le cas d'une mise à niveau vers 20.04 via une autre version il faudrait sûrement recommancé avec la 20.04 clean.

Je te proposerais un test pour voir si le temps de démarrage en serait amélioré de beaucoup ?

- Supprimer le répertoire /var/log/journal et son contenu, ce qui aura pour effet d'interrompre la copie en dur des fichiers journaux sur ton système; ne restera alors que le journal de la session dans /run/log/journal :

sudo rm -rv /var/log/journal

....attention avec la commande rm -rv : il faut impérativement la copier/coller telle quelle sans ajouter d'espaces, sinon risque de casser ton système.

- Redémarrer et redonner les retours de :

systemd-analyze time
systemd-analyze critical-chain
journalctl -b --unit systemd-journald

Pour revenir à l'état initial si désiré, et redémarrer l'archivage des fichiers journaux en dur sur ton système, simplement recréer le répertoire /var/log/journal et suivre d'un redémarrage :

sudo mkdir /var/log/journal

Quant à la pertinence d'avoir les journaux en dur sur le système, ça reste à toi de voir si tu le considères utile ou pas; d'autres plus compétents que moi pourraient te donner leur opinion.

Ajout :
Tu pourrais aussi faire le même test sans avoir à supprimer le répertoire /var/log/journal, simplement en ajoutant l'entrée suivante à la section [Journal] du fichier
/etc/systemd/journald.conf :

Storage=volatile

...suivre d'un redémarrage.

Encore là, pour revenir à l'état précédent, simplement supprimer l'entrée du fichier et redémarrer.

Je te suggère de remplacer le disque...
Il y a beaucoup trop de pending. Cela ne me semble pas valoir  le coup de faire un formatage lent avec gmone disk utility

C'est justement ce que je commençais à envisager : remplacer le disque et recommencer sur une installation propre...
Le seul problème, c'est que j'ai actuellement un dual-boot, avec Windows sur un disque sain (sda), et Ubuntu sur le disque qui pose problème (sdb). Or, sur le disque où est installé ubuntu, je ne sais pas pourquoi il y a une partition de 26GB dont le type est Microsoft Windows Recovery Environment (System). Du coup je me demande si remplacer ce disque ne me posera pas de problèmes avec le disque restant...
